Annual Mela, 2012

Our club held our annual mela on November 24 from 4pm to 10pm at SBI grounds, East of Kailash Campus. This was a fundraising event with all the money going to charity. All the modules' ladies club, of Delhi circle, participated.

All the senior members of the SBI family honoured us with their presence and inaugurated the mela. This was followed by an evocative dance performance by Gargi Sharma, a young member of the SBI family, and a Ganesh vandana by the member of the club. The attractions of the mela were painting competition for the children, interesting games like American Auction and card games. A highlight of this mela was that we resurrected the dying Indian entertainment form of the bio scope  We also had the popular music station where you could dedicate songs to your loved ones. You could sample multiple cuisines under the same roof many of which was home-made. There was also a pan stall - Bananas-wali!

The Agra module brought some fragrant heeng, the ever popular petha and khurja pottery. Dehdradun module had on display the famous ellora bakery's goodies, the pahari rajma and dals. Haldwani had on display fruit preserves, rice and fresh juices. Jaipur had their traditional textiles, jewellery and handicrafts. Meerut brought linen, rewaris and gur.

We are very proud of the fact that it was an eco-friendly mela where we used plates made of pressed leaves and paper.

We are very grateful to our supporters for the fantastic response we received.
